Every child deserves the opportunity to better themselves and follow their dreams. The Ida C. Koran Trust provides academic financial assistance for dependent children of Ecolab employees and retirees seeking to broaden their horizons through post secondary study (undergraduate programs including trade, technical, vocational or traditional university programs).
Selected students will receive an award ranging from a minimum of $2,000 to a maximum of $10,000. Awards are renewable to qualifying students for up to three years or until graduation, whichever comes first.
All on-line electronic applications must be submitted online to Scholarship America by 21 February 2023 (3 p.m. CST).
To be eligible for the Ida C. Koran Academic Assistance Program, the applicant must be a dependent child of an eligible Ecolab employee or retiree with at least 12 months of service. Employees from companies acquired by Ecolab are eligible for the Trust’s programs once the acquisition is finalized. Financial need using the Suggested Parent Contribution methodology (SPC) will determine the size of the award to selected students.
The Academic Assistance Program is administered independently by Scholarship America. IRS regulations permit no more than one of every four applicants receives an award. The more applications received, the more awards selected.
Dependents of Ecolab employees are required to complete the on-line application fully and submit electronic official academic transcripts from the dependent child’s most recent education facility. Incomplete applications or paper applications will not be considered for awards. Scholarship recipients are selected based on academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, and financial need.
Recipients must demonstrate financial need to receive an award. Awards will be given as scholarships or as a combination of scholarships and loans.
Applications must be returned by 21 February 2023 (3pm CST). Scholarship Management services will begin processing and evaluating applications after this date. Students are notified of their award status in mid-late May
